// CASE STUDY
Glen Meadows Baptist Church
Moving people from attending to engaging.
// THE CONTEXT
A Strong West Texas Church
Glen Meadows Baptist Church sits in a West Texas city of a little over 100,000 people. When we started working together, the senior pastor had been there about 18 years. Weekend attendance was growing steadily — often around 1,000 people across three Sunday services.
But the real goal wasn’t just bigger Sundays. They wanted more people taking meaningful next steps — getting connected beyond Sunday and growing as disciples.
Their Vibe
Glen Meadows is unapologetically West Texas. One of their Sunday services leans into a southern gospel style — classic songs laced with steel guitar and a bit of a twang, familiar feel, and a steady, warm presence. They’re relational, family-friendly, and not trying to be a “cool church.” They know who they are, and that’s part of what makes them strong.
The Challenge
They had already done a lot of the hard leadership work — clarifying mission, vision, values, and their disciple-making strategy. Now they needed a communications system that could help move people from “attending” to “engaging.”
In short: they needed a more strategic, intentional approach to communication across every channel.
Alignment Produces Results
These outcomes aren’t just “because we did communication better.” The real story is the combined effect of strong ministry environments plus communication that consistently points people toward next steps. That’s the SC3 process: define your strategy — then communicate it consistently.
// WHAT WE DID
The Multi-Faceted Solution
01 We integrated with their team and ran the weekly communication process.
SC3 Partners plugged into their staff to expand capacity and fill gaps. We managed the week-after-week communication work across their channels, so staff weren’t carrying the full load — or reinventing the wheel every week.
02 We rebranded to clarify their language and visual identity.
Alongside the weekly work, we led a rebrand process that included updated messaging, a new logo, and full brand guidelines.
We also helped the executive team roll it out in a way that reduced surprise and increased buy-in — starting with smaller groups before going public churchwide. By the time the announcement happened, most people had already heard about it and processed it. The response was overwhelmingly positive.
03 We shifted from “everything to everyone” to a tiered strategy.
Instead of blasting every message to the whole church, we moved toward a tiered approach:
- The right message
- To the right audience
- At the right time
- Always inviting a next step
That meant coaching leaders, meeting with ministry teams, and doing real change management. We weren’t just producing content — we were helping the church change how communication worked.
04 We simplified Sunday morning communication.
We reduced what was communicated on Sundays — especially in print and from the stage. The team moved toward:
- Fewer items in the bulletin (cut size by 50%, saving on printing costs)
- No more than two stage announcements per Sunday
- A focus on clear, immediate next steps (baptism, assimilation, key easy on-ramps)
05 We refreshed the website experience within their platform limits.
Their website runs on Touchpoint’s CMS. While Touchpoint isn’t our preferred platform, it integrates well with their internal systems. So we provided new front-end design direction that fit Touchpoint’s framework and matched the updated brand.
We intentionally didn’t overhaul everything — budget and change fatigue were real. The goal was meaningful improvement without stacking too many major changes at once.
// WHAT LUKE SAYS
In their own words.
“Steve and his team did a masterful job in helping us capture the heart of our church in both image and word. The new visual and verbal identities have provided invaluable tools for us to succinctly and accurately convey exactly who we are and what we are about. SC3 Partners gave us a framework to guide what we communicate and how we communicate it. And, they walked our ministry leaders through a process of understanding the framework, why it was a better approach, and what it would mean for their specific ministries. That kind of clarity has been very meaningful and helpful for us.”
