SC3 Partners

// ABOUT SC3 PARTNERS

We hate broken church communication.

Too many churches settle for a broken, ineffective model of communication based on bad assumptions. It’s not their fault — they don’t know any other way.

// OUR STORY

We’ve been in your seat.

We know the week-to-week pressure of being in an executive or pastoral role trying to lead well, communicate clearly, and generate or sustain momentum.

We figured out how to do it. And we created SC3 Partners so we can share it with church leaders like you.

SC3 Partners started in the real world of local church ministry.

For years, Steve Finkill served on church staff as a worship leader — planning services, building teams, and carrying the weekly pressure to make Sunday a great experience that connects people with God.

And like most church leaders, he had a front-row seat to one of the most frustrating-yet-ever-present parts of church life: announcements. They disrupted the service. They rarely worked. But too often, they felt like the best (or only!) option a church had for getting people involved — because there wasn’t a better communication system in place.

A great Sunday service isn’t enough to change people’s lives.

Over time, Steve realized something even bigger: a great Sunday service isn’t enough to change people’s everyday lives. If people are going to grow, connect, serve, and take real next steps in following Jesus in the 24/7 real situations of life, the church needs communication that reaches beyond Sunday.

So he began building a different approach — treating Sunday not as the center of communication, but as a strategic moment inside a bigger plan. Over 25+ years of church leadership and communication work — and through the churches SC3 Partners has served since launching in 2009 — that framework has been refined, tested, and proven.

Let’s move beyond Sunday.

Today, SC3 Partners exists for the leaders who feel that tension every week: the grind of making every Sunday matter, the frustration of unclear messaging, and the desire to see people actually engage in the mission of Jesus, living and sharing the good news.

If you’re looking for a partner who understands the demands of ministry and can reshape your church communication to drive deeper engagement that moves people beyond Sunday, you just found it.

// ABOUT OUR FOUNDER // STEVE FINKILL

25+ years of church leadership, communications, and branding experience.

Steve Finkill has worked in marketing, branding, and communications for over 25 years. Having served as a worship leader, communications director, executive pastor, youth pastor, family ministries pastor, church elder, church janitor, and strategic branding and marketing consultant, he brings a unique breadth and depth of perspective to every conversation, decision, and task.

“I’m at my best when I can increase lift in organizations. There are two forces required for flight: lift and thrust. Thrust is about direction and speed. Lift is about altitude. I am not called to be the one who sets the direction in any organization. That’s not my thing. I make my best contribution by listening to the direction and pace the leader sets and then devising and implementing ongoing strategies and tactics to get things off the ground and take things to a new level. When that happens, leaders experience freedom they didn’t know was possible.”

// COMMON QUESTIONS

Frequently Asked Questions.

How much does it cost to add SC3 Partners to our team?

Engagements typically range from $3,000 to $10,000 per month, depending on the scope and frequency of work. After our discovery call we put together a custom proposal so the price matches what you actually need.

How does this actually work on a weekly basis?

You add us to your weekly communications meetings and project tools (Slack, email, your project tracker). We pick up the work — strategy, copy, design, web — and report progress in your existing rhythms. Most clients feel like we are inside team members within a few weeks.

Can you provide references from current churches you serve?

Absolutely. Once we know your context, we can connect you with church leaders we are currently serving so you can hear directly how the partnership has worked for them.

Do you have a portfolio of design work we can see?

Yes — we will share representative samples of branding, web, social, and print work during the discovery call so you can evaluate fit for your church’s aesthetic and standards.

Do you work with other types of organizations that aren’t churches?

Absolutely. We currently have several clients who are not churches and a few that are not faith-based organizations. If you need marketing that moves people to take action—to sign up, to hire you, or to set up a conversation, we can help. Our expertise is in B2B marketing when you move outside of the church space. If you’re looking for a B2C marketing team, we’re probably not your best choice.
